I’ve been a busy bee the last few weeks, preparing something I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of years… Hence the blog neglection, and I apologise profusely, but on the positive side: here are the results…
My first Skillshare class has been released! ‘The Fast-track to Awesome Geometric Mandala Designs in Adobe Illustrator’ is a short and sweet online class perfect for all pattern and colour lovers.
These circular patterns are wonderful to look at, easy to create and very versatile. You can use them in all sorts of projects like:
- Colouring sheets/books
- Greeting cards
- Branding & logos
- Home decor products (e.g. cushions)
- Accessories (e.g. tote bags)
- And even on tattoos!
In this 1 hour long class, I walk you through an easy and super fast way to create eye-catching geometric mandala designs in Adobe Illustrator (no previous knowledge of Illustrator required!).
I use a couple of Illustrator scripts, the Live Paint feature and a little-known technique to create fabulous and interesting colour palettes, among other Illustrator pro tips.
If you’re not familiar with Illustrator scripts, get ready to be surprised! A script is a series of commands that tells Illustrator to perform one or more tasks, so you can automate some of your design work and save some time.
The class project is to design an A4 calendar which you can then print out. You can create 12 mandalas and do a full year or do as many months as you want. This calendar would look lovely in your own home/office, or you can make several and use them as fabulous Christmas/birthday presents!
I’d love for you to come and join me on my debut class! I 100% believe that you’ll enjoy it (even if it’s just by laughing at my silly accent!), and you might learn a thing or two… Also, on the 30th September, as a bonus, I’ll be selecting 5 projects to feature on the blog.
If you decide to join me, click on the button below and I’ll see you in class! :-)
IMPORTANT: If you sign up for Skillshare Premium Membership through any link on this page you get 2 FREE months of Skillshare! You can then use them to watch my class and as many others as you can fit in that time, what’s not to like?!
