The online magazine that all surface pattern designers have been waiting for has arrived!
Moyo is the world’s first magazine dedicated to surface pattern design, brought to you by the founders of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design and Make it in Design, Beth Nicholls and Rachael Taylor (Moyo is Japanese for ‘pattern’ and is pronounced mo-yor). Best of all, it’s completely free. Read on…
A few months ago the students of ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design’ course were told by their founders (Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls) that an amazing project was being developed – the first online magazine dedicated to the industry. We all got very excited and I knew that they were bound to deliver a very special publication as we all have seen these two ladies excel themselves, time and time again.
The magazine is called Moyo (Japanese for pattern), will be published quarterly and has a fantastic team behind it, including Jessica Swift, Libby McMullin and Louise Gale. And believe it or not, it’s FREE!
Packed with interviews, design briefs, colour challenges, art reviews, student showcases, design tips, inspiration, trends and more, this free resource is published quarterly. – Make It In Design
The first edition has 36 pages of fantastic content: industry interviews, trend forecasts, design tips, design showcase and industry calendar among others.
I send big THANKS to all the Moyo team for delivering such a wonderful mag and I’m glad is online as I don’t want to lose my ‘Moyo’!
